POMEROY, Ohio – The Primary Election is fast approaching in Ohio. The Primary Election is March 19, 2024 from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Early voting and absentee voting has already begun. Early voting hours at the Meigs County Board of Elections are March 13-15 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., March 16 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and March 17 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Military and overseas ballots were sent out on Feb. 2.

Before you go for early voting at the Meigs County Board of Elections located at 113 E. Memorial Drive in Pomeroy, here is what you will need:

There are several types of valid photo identification.

  • Ohio driver’s license;
  • State of Ohio ID card;
  • Interim ID form issued by the Ohio BMV;
  • A US passport;
  • A US passport card;
  • US military ID card;
  • Ohio National Guard ID card; or
  • US Department of Veterans Affairs ID card

All photo IDs must have the following:

  • An expiration date that has not passed;
  • A photograph of the voter;
  • The voter’s name, which must substantially conform to the voter’s name as it appears in the Poll List or in the Poll Book

NOTICE: An unexpired Ohio Driver License, State ID Card, or Interim Documentation with your former address IS an ACCEPTABLE form of ID when your current address is in the pollbook.

  • Voter identification and signatures are checked TWICE by bipartisan teams at county boards of elections
  • Voter list maintenance helps keep voter rolls accurate
  • Ballot harvesting is against the law in Ohio, and potential violations are investigated
  • Voters can track their ballot online at VoteOhio.gov/Track
