Maudie Ann Maynard Zirkle
Maudie Ann Maynard Zirkle, 81, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of March 11, 2024 at Overbrook Center in Middleport, Ohio. She was born on March 9, 1943, in Laredo, WV to the late Roberta Preece Maynard Swisher and Jesse Maynard.
Besides her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, David Henry Zirkle, whom she married on July 25,1967, her Brother William Paul Maynard and his wife Jill Maynard, her Stepfather Harley Swisher, Stepbrother Melvin Swisher, her maternal grandparents Vina Stepp and James Garfield Preece, her paternal grandparents Roxie Blackburn and William Henderson Maynard and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was also preceded in death by a special friend, Kathryn Hart.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Terri and Bruce Hysell, Debbie and Cecil Maynard, and Brenda and Michael Seagraves. Also surviving are Ann’s brother James Russell and Patty Maynard, brother-in-law and wife Mike and Joy Zirkle, and sister-in-law Sherry Swisher. Also survived by eight Grandchildren, Jesse and Gretchen Maynard, Amber and Arnie Dugan, Travis and Breanna Hysell, Kyrie and Tyler Cline, Samantha and Roger Smith, Jessica and Greg King, Nik Seagraves, and Steffany and Gage Patterson. Also surviving are 15 Great Grandchildren, Taylor and Baker Maynard; Lily, Amelia, Cain, Jacob, and Romeo Dugan; Kristen and Henry Hysell; Zackery King, Austin and Bradley Smith; Lila, Sophie, and Joel Beattie; Quinn, Camilla, and Rosalyn Patterson, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ann was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church, Sonshine Circle, Racine Area Community Organization (RACO), Star Mill Park Board, Racine Fall Festival, and the Senior Citizens Center.
Ann will be missed dearly by all who knew her and loved her. She raised and was very proud of her three daughters. She not only made a positive and unforgettable impact on their lives but also on the lives of their husbands, many of their childhood and adult friends, and all her grandchildren throughout the years. So many stories read, cookies baked, games played (and attended), and special memories made! We are all blessed to have known her and had her presence in our lives.
Visitation will occur from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy, Ohio. The Funeral Services will follow, beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday with Pastor John Swanson officiating. The burial will be at Graham Station Cemetery in New Haven, WV.
