Several different court cases have resulted in recent sentencings in the Meigs County Court of Common Pleas.

Tanya Young was sentenced to five years Community Control and to complete the STAR program for Complicity, a fourth degree felony. A first degree misdemeanor count of Endangering Children was dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

Randi Stalnaker was sentenced to continue Community Control and complete the STAR program for a Probation Violation. Stalnaker was indicted and on Possession of Drugs and had entered a guilty plea, but the defendant was seeking intervention in lieu of conviction in 2023.

Melissa Pauley was sentenced to five years Community Control and to complete the STAR program for Strangulation, a fifth degree felony. Pauley was originally indicted with one count of Strangulation, a fifth degree felony, and Assault, a misdemeanor of the first degree. She entered a guilty plea, with the misdemeanor charge being dropped.

Brandi Lane was sentenced to continue Community Control and complete the STAR program for a Probation Violation. Lane was indicted on one count of Possession of Drugs in 2022. Lane entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to five years of Community Control in 2023.

Timothy Triplett was sentenced to serve five years Community Control and complete the STAR program for Burglary, a fourth degree felony. Triplett had been indicted in 2023 with one count each of Burglary, a third degree felony, and Resisting Arrest, a second degree felony. Triplett entered a guilty plea on Sept. 23, 2024 and was convicted of one count of Burglary, a fourth degree felony. The Resisting Arrest charge was dropped.

Raynee Herman was sentenced to serve five years Community Control and complete Meigs County Drug Court. Herman entered guilty pleas in two separate cases. One case involved two counts Obstructing Justice, both fifth degree felonies, and other was one count of Possession of Drugs, a fifth degree felony. Herman entered a guilty plea and was convicted of Possession of Drugs, a fifth degree felony, and one count of Obstructing Justice, a fifth degree felony.

Caleb Shuler was sentenced to serve a definite sentence of six years up to nine years in prison for Felonious Assault, a felony of the second degree. Shuler was originally indicted on one count of Endangering Children, a second degree felony, and one count of Assault, a second degree felony, for an incident from March 2024 involving a child under the age of 18. Shuler entered a guilty plea and was convicted of the one count of Felonious Assault. The other charge was dropped.

Timothy Erwin was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison for two counts Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor, both felonies of the third degree. Erwin was indicted on three counts involving incidents from 2022 with a child between the ages of 13-15 at the time. The three counts were from different times, and were all Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor, felonies of the third degree. Erwin entered guilty pleas to two of the charges, with one being dropped. Erwin was convicted of the two counts and has been sentenced to serve the terms concurrently, which means he will actual serve five years for the two counts. He must also register as a Tier II sex offender upon release from prison.
