A man from Continental Country Club was detained following a violent attack over food.
Sidney Sussman, 72, was arrested Wednesday night on a charge of felony violence.
According to a Sumter County Sheriff’s Office arrest record, the Pennsylvania native was arguing with another guy “over food inside the residence.” Sussman punched the other man on the left side of the face, causing “a red mark and blood,” according to the complaint.
Sussman had already been arrested in 2020. He was driving with a woman on State Road 44 near Morse Boulevard when Sussman started “punching her like a man” in the face. She claimed he grabbed her arm and dumped coffee on her. She pulled up to the side of the road, and Sussman got out and raced away. The woman sustained a right knot on the side of her forehead and a bruise on the underside of her right arm. As a result of his arrest, he was required to complete a batterers intervention program.
Following his arrest on Wednesday, he was booked into the Sumter County Detention Center. The bond was set at $5,000.
