Shooting In The Flats In Cleveland Leaves 5 People Wounded

Multiple sources have told the FOX 8 I-Team that a shooting happened in Cleveland’s Flats early Sunday evening. Five people have been wounded, according to police.

According to the Cleveland Division of Police, police responded to five victims after the shooting occurred around 6:15 p.m. in the 1000 block of W 10th Street.

“Cleveland Fire personnel had just been dispatched for overcrowding at a nearby bar, where they also heard gunfire,” police told FOX 8 News. “Upon arrival, officers rendered aid to five victims, including one believed to be a suspect.”

All five victims were taken to the hospital, according to police. According to information provided to the I-Team, three of these are critical.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the shooting happened after a fight broke out outside a nearby pub.

Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb issued a statement Sunday night saying, “I’m outraged by the shooting in The Flats this evening. Gun violence has no place in our city — period. While the investigation is still unfolding, I’ve already directed my team to immediately shut down and board up the bar involved. We will hold everyone accountable to the fullest extent of the law.“
