Duluth, MN — St. Louis County residents can clear out expired or unwanted medications this Saturday at a community Drug Take Back event in Duluth.
As part of the DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, deputies from the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office will be on-site at the Resource Renew Household Hazardous Waste Facility from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 25. The effort aims to help people safely discard unused pharmaceuticals, reducing the chance of misuse and protecting the environment.
The drop-off location is 2626 Courtland Street, Duluth, MN 55806. Both prescription and over-the-counter medications will be accepted, and deputies will ensure items are handled and disposed of according to safety and environmental guidelines.
Officials note that events like this deter drug abuse, prevent accidental poisonings, and keep chemicals out of local waterways. Similar collection sites are operating across the country in coordination with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
No appointment is necessary—residents can stop by at any time during event hours.
