A Memphis woman was detained after investigators said she stabbed her boyfriend during a “domestic incident” and then lied about it, according to records.
Rosie Rogers, 36, was charged with attempted second-degree murder and false reporting, according to an affidavit. According to records, after the stabbing, she devised a ruse to confound investigators as they investigated the case.
Officers from the Memphis Police Department responded to a report of shots fired early Monday morning at a home on Barron Avenue in the Sherwood Forest area. FOX13 arrived to discover a large police presence, with an MPD Mobile Command Center arriving hours later.
According to court records, Rogers stabbed her lover, called police, and claimed there had been a shooting while secretly sneaking him out of the house and loading him into the car. According to records, she took him to the hospital under a false name.
The individual was last described as in critical condition.
Rogers told authorities in her affidavit that she lied about the scenario because her partner had active jail warrants.
