After a two-day trial, a federal jury found Memphis man Derrick Richard, 36, guilty of one count of felony handgun possession.
Richard had already been convicted of three violent felonies.
If Richard is found guilty, he risks a mandatory statutory minimum sentence of fifteen years in federal prison for possessing a firearm by a convicted felon.
A Memphis Police Department officer discovered Richard with an illegal gun in his pocket on December 22, 2022, leading to this guilty verdict.
