A woman was attacked while bringing out the garbage in Chicago’s West Ridge neighborhood on Wednesday morning, according to police.
The incident occurred around 1.22 a.m. in the 6200 block of North Fairfield Avenue.
Police said a man with a sharp weapon cut the 65-year-old victim on the head and arm.
The offender, who police say was clothed entirely in black, fled before officers arrived.
The woman suffered lacerations to her temple and forearm and was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where she was listed in excellent condition, police said.
There is no one in custody, and Area Three detectives are investigating.
