A man is in custody after being charged with a September shooting in the Castalia Heights neighborhood.

On September 21, the shooting took place at a home on Cloverdale Drive.

According to the victim, Tavares Sheeks arrived at her house, knocked on the front door, and said, “I got your money.”

The victim informed police that as she opened the front door, Sheeks was standing on the curb with a revolver and fired.

Sheeks then allegedly fled the area in a car with two other people.

The victim said Sheeks owed her $1,200 for mechanic work that never began, and the two had been bickering about it for some time.

The victim informed police that five other individuals were inside the house at the time of the incident.

Sheeks was arrested on Wednesday and charged with attempted second-degree murder, using a handgun during a violent felony, and reckless endangerment with a lethal weapon.
