Police: Man Riding In Vehicle Shot In Chicago’s Gresham Neighborhood

A man was shot while riding in a car on the South Side late Thursday, according to Chicago police.

According to police, the incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. on the 500 block of West 76th St. in the Gresham area.

A 26-year-old man was sitting in his vehicle when he heard multiple gunshots from outside. He realized he’d been shot in the hand.

He was transported to the Little Company of Mary Hospital in good health.

It is unknown what prompted the gunshots or whether the vehicle was targeted.

There have been no arrests made. Detectives from Area Two are conducting an investigation.
