The police department has ordered drivers to avoid an area of Clermont after a body was discovered on Thursday.
According to a release, police got a 911 call approximately 12:57 p.m. regarding someone who seemed to be dead inside a vehicle near West Park.
“As the first units arrived, contact was made with a vehicle and a male sitting in the driver seat,” according to the announcement. “The subject was pronounced deceased by Clermont Fire Department a short time later.”
Police are still investigating what happened, but the department assures residents that the incident appears to be isolated and that there is no known threat to the neighborhood.
In the meanwhile, authorities are advising residents to avoid the West Park area while the investigation continues.
