One person has been detained, while another remained on the loose Sunday, after a train burglary prompted police in Chicago’s south suburbs to ask residents to stay at home.
On Saturday morning, New Lenox police searched for an escaped burglar near Francis Road and Vine Street.
Their search began following a chase in Wilmington Township, where officers discovered several suspects wearing ski masks inside two train cars at a railroad crossing.
The thieves escaped and went to New Lenox, where the driver collided with another car.
One of the thieves was transported to a hospital.
Another person in the car was still missing several hours later.
