Detectives from the Conroe Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division arrested a suspect involved in a fraud scheme at a John Deere dealership on February 2, 2026.

According to a press release from the Conroe Police Department, the investigation began when investigators were alerted to a suspicious credit application that contained bogus information. G. Vradenburg and J. Roper, financial crimes detectives, collaborated with the dealership to monitor the transaction. Detectives arrested the suspect as he attempted to complete the purchase.

During the on-scene inquiry, the female suspect was discovered in possession of numerous fake documents, including multiple identity, credit, and debit cards under different identities. In addition, fraudulently obtained products and criminal instruments like disguises were seized.

The offender was arrested without incident and charged with a second-degree felony, Fraudulent Use or Possession of Identifying Information. Conroe Police Chief Jon Buckholtz praised the partnership between local business owners and the department’s Criminal Investigation Division, saying it was critical in preventing identity theft and financial harm to victims.

Detectives have found at least 30 other potential victims, and the suspect’s identity is being kept hidden until further investigation. Detectives are still investigating the case to fully understand the fraud’s scope and identify any new victims.
