Mississippi man apprehended after previous argument reportedly ends with shooting at victim’s front door

A Mississippi man is apprehended after allegedly shooting a man as he opened the door to his home on Thursday.

Deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office rushed to the incident on Alex Court in St. Martin and discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm.

Deputies discovered that the victim had previously had a dispute with the suspect, Matthew David Jackson.

According to authorities, Jackson went to the victim’s home and shot him as he opened the door.

Jackson was apprehended on Interstate 10 by the Moss Point Police Department and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department as he attempted to flee the county.

He is now jailed in Jackson County without bond.
