19-year-old, 7 juveniles charged in stolen gun ring

State investigators in Pennsylvania said that an illegal gun operation in Allegheny County that stretched into Ohio involved a 19-year-old and seven others between the ages of 14 and 17.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday stated that gun store burglaries, including one in Beaver Township, Ohio, provided the guns. Investigators in Pennsylvania were drawing connections between the cases.

Overall, the organization is responsible for the theft of 79 guns. Officials apprehended many of them, but approximately two dozen remain unaccounted for.

On Sunday, it was said that Chalais Ramey, 19, is the only adult charged. He and the seven juveniles have been charged with felony corrupt organizations, receiving stolen property, conspiracy, burglary, unlawful transfer of firearms, illegal possession of firearms, and other offenses, according to Attorney General Dave Sunday.

A preliminary hearing for Ramey is scheduled for February 17.

“Due to many of these being juvenile allegations at the moment, I am limited in what can be said publicly, but I assure Pennsylvanians that we are not treating these crimes as child’s play,” Sunday said. “The evidence shows that these brazen burglaries and thefts were deliberate and premeditated, as were the efforts to illegally traffic and transfer the guns.”

The allegations stem from a burglary at the Allegheny Arms in Bethel Park on January 13, 2025. The break-in resulted in the theft of 56 weapons. On the same day, members of the organization attempted to break into two other gun stores in Allegheny County.

On January 19, 2025, the group stormed into Expert Outfitters in Beaver Township and stole 23 weapons.

According to Sunday, the group utilized stolen automobiles to commit burglaries and attempted burglaries.

Sunday revealed that both Pennsylvania and Ohio had received the corruption allegations.
