A woman was apprehended in connection with a deadly pedestrian accident in the Lower Valley on Saturday.
Aurora Morales, 62, has been apprehended by officers.
The Special Traffic Investigations Unit responded to the incident on the 7800 block of North Loop in El Paso.
According to the preliminary inquiry, Ana Maria Paniagua, 57, of El Paso, offered to drive Aurora Morales, 62, home.
As Morales was changing seats, the 1999 Ford F350 began to slide rearward, striking Paniagua.
She was taken to a hospital, where she died.
The DWI Task Force was contacted to assist with the investigation.
Morales was charged with drunken manslaughter.
This is the seventh traffic fatality in El Paso this year, compared to six the same time last year. The investigation is underway.
