Two men are charged in connection with a major drug trafficking bust in Miami Beach, which resulted in the seizure of a large amount of narcotics, according to police.
Ricardo Ramos, 34, and Remigio Romero, 52, were arrested Tuesday as part of an investigation that began in July 2025 with an anonymous tip about a man dealing methamphetamine in the North Beach area, according to Miami Beach Police.
Ramos was identified as the key suspect, and detectives discovered that he would move between residences to avoid law enforcement and utilize several sites to obtain drugs and make transactions, police said.
Detectives began conducting undercover narcotics purchases from Ramos, who carried out the transactions within 1,000 feet of Temple Menorah and many local schools, according to officials.
Police on Wednesday revealed footage of SWAT executing a search warrant, which concluded with police discovering a substantial amount of drugs, including:
- Approximately 24 kilograms of 1,4-butanediol packaged in 500 mL bottles labeled as household cleaner
- Approximately 256 grams of crystal methamphetamine
- Approximately 236 grams (424 pills) of phenethylamine/MDMA (Ecstasy)
- Approximately 28 grams of MDMA (crystal form)
- Approximately 68 grams of 2-CB
- Approximately 12 Xanax pills
- Approximately 32 grams of cocaine (24 baggies)
- Approximately 32 grams of ketamine
- Approximately 10 grams of fresh cannabis
“They seized a array of narcotics from cocaine to methamphetamine, but the biggest part is we were able to seize it before a child got it from a nearby school,” Miami Beach Police spokesman Christopher Bess said. “It’s extremely concerning, and it depicts that our defendant had no regard for the lives of our residents and the lives of little kids going to school.”
Ramos is facing various drug trafficking and controlled substance counts, including selling them within 1,000 feet of a school.
Romero’s charges were not available.
“This case reflects months of coordinated investigative work and strong partnerships at the local and federal levels,” Miami Beach Police Chief Wayne Jones said in a statement. “It underscores our commitment to protecting our residents, children, and families, and to ensuring that those who attempt to distribute dangerous drugs near schools and houses of worship are held accountable. We also appreciate the community members who come forward with information that helps us keep Miami Beach safe.”
Bess stated that they discovered seven cellphones during the search warrant, which detectives believe are tied to various fraud instances.
“Just because an arrest was made doesn’t necessarily mean an investigation is over,” Bess said. “This remains an ongoing investigation and our investigators and police department is going to continue to do whatever we can to ensure he never sells drugs on Miami Beach again.”
