Leesburg woman detained during trip to local Wawa

A Leesburg woman was detained for driving with a suspended license when an officer noticed her parked at a Wawa.

An officer saw Altyana Dorlita Baker, 25, parked in a silver Nissan Sentra at Wawa, 3150 W Main St., around 7:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 9, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. A check of the vehicle’s plate revealed that its registration had expired on January 28, according to the report.

As the vehicle backed out of the parking lot, the officer performed a traffic stop on Park Circle. Baker subsequently admitted she didn’t have a driver’s license and was only cited for it “around two months ago,” according to the report.

A look at her driving record revealed a guilty conviction for driving without a valid license in June 2022 and driving with a suspended license in December 2025. She had a valid ID card, but her license was suspended as of December 31, 2025, due to an unpaid traffic penalty, according to the report.

Baker was arrested for driving with a suspended license (second or subsequent violation). She was taken to the Lake County Jail and freed after posting a $500 bond.

She was also arrested in November 2025 after being found with marijuana in her pocket while exiting Berry Park.
