A missing person was found in an overturned car in a creek after crashing their car near the Ohio River, according to police.
A news release from the Campbell County Police Department stated that a missing person was found at 9 a.m. on February 21. According to the department, the individual was reported missing at 8 p.m. on February 20 after authorities received an alert from the iPhone’s accident detection feature on Nienaber Lane near the Ohio River in Melbourne, Kentucky.
After an exhaustive nighttime search, the missing person was discovered in a shallow portion of Lloyd Creek, a long distance from the original alarm site. Police claimed they were discovered in their upturned vehicle.
Authorities declined to identify the missing person in their first release, stating that the coroner would reveal the identity once the next of kin had been notified.
