A crash has left two people dead and shut down a rural Nevada highway Thursday morning, according to authorities.
The crash occurred shortly after 2:15 a.m. on U.S. 95 near mile marker 73 in Nye County, roughly 13 miles north of Beatty, according to Trooper Shawn Haggstrom of the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol.
According to Haggstrom, the crash involved a semi-truck tractor-trailer and a tow vehicle, and both drivers were pronounced dead on the scene.
No further information was provided.
U.S. 95’s northbound and southbound travel lanes are both restricted to accommodate the response.
According to Haggstrom, drivers can escape the shutdown by using US 93 through Alamo, State Route 375, or US 6.
