Two people were killed in a crash on the Kennedy Expressway Sunday morning, Illinois State Police said.
Police initially stated that three people were killed.
The incident happened around 1:46 a.m. in the incoming lanes near Randolph Street.
According to police, a passenger car was stopped in traffic when it was hit by another vehicle traveling in the same way.
Five people were taken to the hospital with injuries, and two were eventually confirmed dead.
