A University of Alabama student from the Chicago suburbs has been reported missing while visiting friends in Barcelona, Spain, the family told NBC Chicago.
Jimmy Gracey, an Elmhurst resident, was last seen by a friend at Shôko, a seaside nightclub, at 3 a.m. on Tuesday, according to family in a social media post. Gracey’s mother wrote on Facebook that he did not return to the bed and breakfast where he was staying.
She also stated that cops had his phone, but it is unclear how they obtained it.
Gracey, who typically wears a gold chain with a rhinestone cross, was dressed in dark jeans and a white t-shirt.
A University of Alabama spokeswoman told NBC Chicago, “James Paul Gracey is a UA student taking a personal trip. UA personnel are in contact with the family and those related with them to provide support and assistance in any way necessary.”
Gracey is roughly 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 175 pounds.
