Gainesville woman turned over to ICE after being apprehended for disturbing the peace

Patricia Araque Hernandez, 18, has been turned over to ICE following her arrest on March 10 for disturbing the peace.

Hernandez, a Venezuelan citizen according to her arrest report, was detained when Gainesville Police Department officers responded to a call about a group of women disturbing the peace at Lexington Crossing Apartments at 11:30 p.m. on March 10.

The officer said that Hernandez was racing around the complex’s pool area, hurling expletives at officers and other women. When cops ordered her to leave the pool area and return to her apartment, she reportedly threatened to spit on them if they attempted to remove her. The other women attempted to persuade Hernandez to leave, but she allegedly went behind them to return to the pool and resume her prior behavior.

According to the officer, Hernandez attempted to attack several of the other women when they tried to steer her away from the pool.

Hernandez was eventually arrested and charged with disorderly behavior.

Hernandez had a juvenile conviction from 2025 but no adult criminal record; she told Court Services she is a Santa Fe College student who has lived in Alachua County for eight years. Judge Susan Miller-Jones set bail at $2,500 but noted that she had an ICE hold and was turned over to ICE on March 15.
