Murder suspect arrested after cutting off ankle monitor and going on the run

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office says a murder suspect who was on the run after removing her ankle monitor has been arrested.

The sheriff’s office said 35-year-old Lisa Mitchell, who was wanted for allegedly selling fentanyl to a deceased person in North Richland Hills, was apprehended after her court-ordered ankle monitor was torn off over a week ago.

Mitchell was located and detained by TCSO Warrant Deputies after a thorough investigation aided by public tips. She was apprehended without incident and taken to the Tarrant County Jail, where she is currently being held.

Mitchell originally bonded out on the murder charge under several conditions, one of which was an ankle monitor. She now faces extra accusations for removing the ankle monitor.

In a news release, the Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude to community members who provided information in this case, as well as the deputies whose dedicated police work led to Mitchell’s arrest.
