A West Price Hill woman is accused of serious child abuse. Adriana Napier, 29, pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to counts including endangering children, felonious assault, strangling, and domestic violence.
Napier is accused of striking a 13-year-old with a belt and a curtain rod because she didn’t perform her chores. She is also accused of striking, biting, and choking the child.
The girl ran out of the house, and a neighbor called for aid. The girl underwent treatment at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for a fracture and other injuries.
“The allegations in this case are deeply disturbing and reflect a level of violence that no child should ever experience,” said Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich. “We will vigorously pursue these charges and demand responsibility. I commend the neighbor for taking action to protect the child. “We can only help these children if we speak up when we see something.”
Pillich did not go into depth about Napier’s relationship with the victim.
Napier risks up to 15 years in jail if found guilty.
