A 19-year-old Roseville man is suspected of generating and sharing child sexual harmful material, according to a federal criminal complaint and local law enforcement.
A Homeland Security special agent stated that investigators were informed on February 25, 2026, after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) forwarded two tips from Kik, a messaging software developed by MediaLab that allows users to remain anonymous.
Kik alleged that a user account, “chaoseje,” uploaded 102 files of suspected child sexually abusive material and claimed to have molested young girls, including footage identified as newly made in February 2026 and depicting the abuse of a 7-year-old girl.
According to federal investigators, the Michigan State Police’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force tracked down a suspected Comcast internet address to a home on Flanagan Street in Roseville. According to court documents, Daniel Jacob Jansen shared an address with other people.
Investigators also connected Jansen to a similar identity, “caosejr,” using CashApp. Police obtained a photo of a 7-year-old girl and stated that they were able to identify her as the one featured in the images.
Macomb Area Computer Enforcement investigators, the Sheriff’s Enforcement Team, and the Michigan ICAC Task Force raided the home on February 25 and detained Jansen, according to authorities.
Officers seized Jansen’s phone and other electronic equipment, as well as apparel described as matching items seen in the 7-year-old’s claimed photographs, and they saw that elements of Jansen’s bedroom appeared to match the images’ backgrounds.
During the search, someone who knew the child was shown “sanitized” images, which allowed them to identify the youngster and the locations in the home where the photos were shot.
On March 2, Jansen was arraigned in Roseville’s 39th District Court on many felony charges, including aggravated child sexually abusive activities and second-degree criminal sexual conduct.
According to police, the bond was set at $1 million in cash or surety, with restrictions including a GPS tether if released, no contact with the victim or anyone under the age of 17, and no return to the home. He is currently being held at the Sanilac County Jail.
According to court records, Jansen agreed to federal detention on March 11, and a preliminary hearing is set for May 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in federal court in Detroit.
