On April 3, detectives from the Northern Nevada Drug Task Force (NNDTF), working alongside the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) task force members from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit and investigators from the Regional Narcotics Unit (RNU), apprehended 21-year-old Aldo Cruz-Delgado during a traffic stop in Sparks.
According to authorities, the arrest stemmed from an ongoing investigation into narcotics distribution in the region.
Cruz-Delgado was booked at the Washoe County Detention Facility on multiple felony charges, including trafficking a controlled substance (400+ grams), possessing a controlled substance with intent to sell, possessing a controlled substance (42+ grams), and selling or transporting a controlled substance.
Detectives said they confiscated around six pounds of methamphetamine with a street value of more than $81,000.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Northern Nevada Drug Task Force consists of detectives from the sheriff’s office, as well as special agents and task force officers from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration’s Reno Resident Office, who collaborate to investigate and disrupt drug trafficking operations throughout the region.
