Police: Woman Accused Of Stealing Up To $1 Million From Her Employer

A woman in Illinois is accused of stealing up to $1 million from her employer, according to police.

Nicole Nesland, 45, was charged with two charges of theft, one accusing her of taking between $500,000 and $1 million and the other of stealing $100,000 to $500,000.

Lexington police said they first learned in May 2024 that an employee was taking money from the business. At this time, authorities stated they were unable to identify the employer.

According to online court documents, Nesland was released from the McLean County Jail under conditions while her case was ongoing.

Her first pretrial hearing is set for April 30.

Both theft counts are Class 1 felonies, with a maximum jail sentence of 15 years if convicted.

She might possibly face community-based probation and county jail time.
