A former teacher at Silver Lake Middle School in Kingston, who was fired after a horrific TikTok video appeared reportedly showing him having a sexual interaction with someone posing as a 15-year-old girl, was discovered dead in Rhode Island.
According to a joint statement from the Kingston and Plympton police, the ongoing investigation—which includes a more than one-hour uncut version of the video—prompted detectives to obtain arrest and search warrants at the courts today.
However, before those warrants could be executed, Rhode Island State Police informed the Plympton Police Department early this morning that the suspect had been found dead.
In a joint statement, the agencies added, “Regardless of your feelings about the alleged offender, the loss of human life is always devastating.” We ask that the public be respectful of the deceased’s family and those who knew him.
They further stated, “We understand incidents like this, especially due to the nature of the alleged offenses and the death of someone’s family member, can bring up extremely mixed emotions for the community.”
Although the suspect has died, the investigation is still proceeding to verify there are no more victims. Police stated that they do not believe any pupils were victimized, and no foul play is suspected.
