An Iron Range man was sentenced this week to 24 years in prison for sexually assaulting a minor.
Matthew Tourigny, 39, of Britt pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal sexual conduct in February.
The registered sex offender admitted to sexually assaulting a youngster under the age of 14 between October 2021 and December 2024.
Tourigny also admitted to aggravating elements; therefore, the court agreed to punish him far over the sentencing guidelines.
He will be given credit for the 484 days he has already served in jail since his arrest.
