A bridge inspector discovered a body inside the structure of a bridge on the Ohio Turnpike on Monday, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
In a statement, OSHP said the inspector made the discovery before 11 a.m. on April 20. Authorities said they do not know how long the body had been there.
The Lucas County Coroner’s Office will identify the person after completing an autopsy.
The inspector was carrying out a routine check just west of the SR-2 interchange in Swanton Township.
