A woman from Massachusetts won $1 million on a lottery ticket she purchased at a Cumberland Farms gas station — but she plans to take her prize year by year.
Diane Seymour of Easthampton won a $1 million reward with a “$4,000,000 In The Money” ticket and came forward to claim it on Wednesday.
The game costs $10 per ticket to play, and all three $4 million grand prizes, as well as seven $1 million awards, remain unclaimed as of April 20.
Seymour chose the annuity option for her reward and got the first of 20 annual payments totaling $50,000 before taxes. She intends to put the winnings towards her retirement.
Seymour purchased her winning ticket at Cumberland Farms, located at 130 College Hwy. in Southampton, and will get a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
