A man was apprehended and charged with evading arrest after fleeing from officers at a traffic stop in West El Paso, according to the El Paso Police Department.
Miguel Angel Anchondo, 28, has been identified as the suspect.
Officers claimed that Anchondo escaped to New Mexico after refusing to comply with a traffic stop in the 700 block of Sunland Park Drive.
Several law enforcement organizations, including Anthony Police Department, Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office, New Mexico State Police, and Las Cruces Marshals Office, helped detain Anchondo, according to city officials.
Anchondo was apprehended and put into custody in New Mexico.
He was put into the El Paso County Detention Facility, with a bond of $30,000.
