Villager detained after repeatedly yelling at lady living on same street

A villager has been detained for frequently yelling at a woman who lives on the same street.

William Henry Lewis, 56, of Perdido Villas in the Village of Pinellas, was being held without bond at the Sumter County Detention Center following his arrest Saturday by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the report, a woman said that Lewis shouted at her every time she left the house. Lewis and the woman live on the same street, but a few houses apart. Lewis was standing in his garage, the door open, when he yelled at her. A neighbor validated the woman’s version of what had happened.

Lewis has been ordered by the court not to contact the woman since his arrest in March on a charge of domestic assault.

In that event, Lewis was invited into the woman’s home, and the Pennsylvania native assumed she had been drinking. He took a sip of her drink and then, clearly agitated, threw her against a wall. He choked her and punched her in the lip.

Lewis was convicted in 2024 of felony violence on a person over the age of 65. In that event, he seized a woman’s wrists. Lewis had a love involvement with the woman’s daughter.
