Oconee County , County in South Carolina – A man faces an incest charge after an underage girl allegedly gave birth in a parking lot and accused him of sexually abusing her for years.
According to a release from the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office obtained by People, deputies responded on April 11 to the parking lot of Oconee Memorial Hospital after they discovered a minor giving birth inside a vehicle.
Hospital staff brought the juvenile inside to complete the delivery, along with an adult woman who was with her. After deputies consulted the Department of Social Services and transferred the case to the Violent Crimes Unit of the Criminal Investigations Bureau, authorities arrested 43-year-old Luis Armando Argueta Montejo.
“Based upon evidence that was obtained during the investigation, and after presenting that evidence to a judge, probable cause was established that Montejo had engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim between 2022 and 2025,” the sheriff’s office wrote in its release.
People reported that the victim herself made the accusation of sexual assault. Authorities placed both the victim and her newborn child into protective custody.
Investigators were reportedly awaiting test results to determine whether Montejo is the father of the child. Regardless, officials charged him with three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and one count of incest.
The relationship between Montejo and the victim was not disclosed by police.
