A woman is being charged after police claim she routinely stole from a middle school booster fund.
Valerie Kubiak, 42, of Bridgeville, faces charges released today by the Allegheny County Police Department.
According to the department’s Facebook post, the accusations arise from an investigation that began in February after investigators were asked to check into cash suspected to have been taken from the Chartiers Valley Choral Parent Association.
Detectives reportedly discovered that the association’s treasurer, Kubiak, had made many unlawful transactions since 2023. Detectives eventually discovered that more than $18,000 had been stolen from the association’s bank account and spent on activities such as restaurants, vacations, sports gambling websites, and nail salons.
Kubiak is currently facing charges of receiving stolen property, access device fraud, and theft by unlawful taking.
