According to El Paso Police, 18-year-old Erick Holguin died as a result of injuries sustained in a crash on the 12200 block of Montana Sunday morning.
According to police, the Special Traffic Investigation Unit arrived to the area about 3:25 a.m. after receiving reports of a single-car collision.
A police investigation indicated that a 2021 Chevrolet Camaro was heading westbound on Montana at a high speed when it collided with a concrete barrier and curb, forcing it to roll over.
The driver, later identified by police as Holguin, and a 17-year-old passenger sustained significant injuries and were taken to the hospital.
According to investigators, Holguin died as a result of his injuries acquired during the incident. Police are still investigating.
