Gang Member Sentenced to 16 Years In Prison for Brutal Fort Worth Assault in 7th Street Area

A Tarrant County jury convicted a Grand Prairie man of a serious robbery-related assault and sentenced him to 16 years in prison.

According to authorities, 25-year-old Jet Thach was convicted of aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury.

The attack took place on December 5, 2022, in the West 7th Street district of Fort Worth. According to authorities, the victim, who did not know Thach, was heading home when Thach and four other defendants approached him and demanded money.

When the victim refused, the five men assaulted him, continuously punching and kicking him until he passed out.

The man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, including a fractured ankle and extensive swelling of his head and face.

During the punishment phase of the trial, jurors learned about Thach’s previous aggravated robbery conviction, as well as his long criminal background and gang connection.

The Fort Worth Police Department investigated the incident.

Prosecutors Ashlea Deener and Morgan Moya from the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office handled the case.
