Unruly passenger arrested after flight diverts to Boston, police say

An international flight diverted to Boston for an unruly passenger on Monday, officials said.

Massachusetts State Police troopers apprehended the passenger after Massport alerted them at 9:34 a.m. After being removed from the United Airlines plane, an individual who was not publicly identified declined medical assistance at the gate. They were confined on the plane but cooperated when troopers boarded, authorities said.

Police did not provide any other information on the passenger’s suspected conduct, just stating that they were investigating.

United stated that Flight 945 landed safely following a passenger interruption and that the jet is scheduled to depart for Chicago later Monday. The airline did not provide additional information about what happened on the flight.

Flight 945 connects Frankfurt, Germany to O’Hare International Airport.
