BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio — Two students from Bridgeport High School were involved in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday evening.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred on National Road.
Emergency crews transported both students to WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital.
As of Wednesday evening, officials have not determined the cause of the crash.
Superintendent Brent Ripley released a statement saying: “Earlier this evening, two of our Bridgeport High School students were involved in a serious car accident. At this time and throughout the rest of the evening, I ask our school and community to come together and lift them up in prayer. The students are currently receiving care from medical professionals at WVU Medicine, and we need every prayer for their lives, their families, and their loved ones. Thank you all.”
