A Lockport man was taken into custody in North Tonawanda after allegedly attempting to entice a minor for sex through a social media platform and then traveling to see the victim.
Devon Kutis, 30, is charged with one felony count of attempted rape.
The North Tonawanda Police Department’s investigation into Kutis began in February, when detectives discovered he was allegedly soliciting a youngster online. This led to his arrest on Thursday, when Kutis went to North Tonawanda to meet a 14-year-old.
Kutis has been charged with attempted rape in the second degree, which is an E felony that involves an actor over the age of 18 and a victim under the age of 15. He was arrested and kept for arraignment.
A search of the New York State digital court filing system yielded no additional information about Kutis’ arrest or upcoming court dates.
North Tonawanda Police requested anybody who witnessed similar incidents to call their detective bureau at 716-692-4312.
