Police: Central Florida Teacher Found In Hotel With Meth After Disappearance

An elementary school teacher was arrested on Friday after being found with drugs during a well-being check, according to the Titusville Police Department.

In a statement, police said the school district had been looking for the instructor, Teresa Mancini, 52, for several days due to an employment issue.

“Mancini was employed at Coquina Elementary School,” according to the announcement. “After being unable to make contact, (Brevard Public Schools) requested assistance from the Titusville Police Department.”

Officers said they eventually discovered Mancini at the Days Inn, where she was found with a bag containing a glass pipe and approximately 1.1 grams of methamphetamine.

As a result, police said she was arrested at 10:40 a.m. and is now charged with carrying drug paraphernalia and methamphetamines.

“At this time, there is no evidence to indicate that any students were involved, harmed, or placed in danger, and the investigation has revealed no connection between this incident and student activity,” the release said.
