Teen discovered shot to death inside vehicle on Chicago’s South Side identified

A teenage boy was discovered shot to death inside a vehicle on Chicago’s South Side Thursday afternoon, according to Chicago police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police said the teen was found around 5:18 p.m. in the 1500 block of East 63rd Street in the Woodlawn area.

Officers discovered him lifeless inside a vehicle and pronounced him deceased at the scene.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the victim as 17-year-old Joses Miguel M.R., and his death was deemed a homicide due to a gunshot wound to the head.

It’s unknown what prompted the shooting.

There have been no arrests announced. Detectives in the area are conducting an investigation.
