A summer youth camp counselor was apprehendedin Florida.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced the arrest of Coty Streit, age 31.

“It should be clear by now that no one will get away with preying on children in Florida, in-person or online,” stated Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier. “I’m thankful for FDLE’s leadership on this investigation and for our law enforcement partners who got this predator out of the community before he was able to be near kids again.”

Coty Streit, of Bell in Gilchrist County, is charged with 15 counts of possessing child sexual abuse materials (CSAM), one count of transmitting CSAM via electronic device, and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device.

The investigation into Streit began in March 2026, when the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that Streit was attempting to send Cash App payments to a Bitcoin wallet linked to CSAM trafficking.

FDLE secured subpoenas for Streit’s cell phone information, resulting in the discovery of two further NCMEC cyber tips indicating that Streit was uploading and disseminating CSAM from his Instagram account.

Streit was being jailed at the Gilchrist County Jail on a $1.7 million bond. If convicted as charged, he may serve up to 85 years in the Florida Department of Corrections.

The Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office and HSI helped in Streit’s arrest. Kelsey Bledsoe, Chief Assistant Statewide Prosecutor, will prosecute this case in Florida’s Eighth Judicial Circuit.
