AMBER Alert Issued for Girl Abducted in Louisiana, Last Seen in Texas

An AMBER Alert has been issued for a 13-year-old girl taken from Louisiana and last seen in North Texas.

Merlin Chirinos-Argueta was last seen around 7:10 p.m. on May 7 in Allen, Texas, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Authorities said the teen was taken from Keithville, Louisiana, and may be traveling in Texas.

Chirinos-Argueta is a 13-year-old Hispanic girl with brown eyes and black hair. She stands around 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs around 120 pounds, according to officials.

According to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, Merlin was reported missing on Thursday. May 7 from Keithville’s 6200 block of Bain Boulevard. Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. stated that investigators are appealing for the public’s assistance in identifying the teen.

Investigators suspect she is with Daniel Vasquez Mejia, an 18-year-old with black hair and brown eyes.

Merlin has not spoken with her family, raising fears about her safety and well-being, officials said. The investigation is underway.

According to authorities, they may be driving a white Chevrolet SUV with the Texas license plate VML6061. The vehicle is believed to feature a skull sticker on the driver’s side rear window and a “mojo” sticker on the passenger side rear window.
