An inmate who left the Edinburgh Correctional Facility in Johnson County was arrested Friday morning, according to the Indiana Department of Correction.
According to an IDOC representative, Montez Beech was taken into custody by correctional authorities around 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 8.
According to officials, Beech departed the minimum-security institution on Thursday night. According to IDOC, he was picked up around 9:30 p.m. on May 7 by “a known associate” who is now regarded as a person of interest.
According to officials, Beech had been serving time for auto theft after being convicted in Hamilton County in March 2025.
No other information was immediately available.
