Nearly 200 people arrested after police seize drugs, guns during operation in Missouri

Federal, state and local law enforcement agencies said a large-scale warrant sweep across the Kansas City metro area led to nearly 200 arrests and the seizure of drugs, firearms, and cash ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

According to authorities, officers cleared 442 federal warrants during the operation. Officials stated the majority of the warrants were people wanted for violent crimes.

Investigators said they seized 8.8 pounds of fentanyl, 418 pounds of methamphetamine, 52 pounds of ketamine, 15 pounds of MDMA, and 6 pounds of cocaine. Authorities reportedly stated that 247 guns and more than $460,000 in cash were seized.

According to sources, federal prosecutors have charged 170 people with firearms and drug charges.

Authorities claimed five suspects wanted in homicide cases were also apprehended during the raid.
