NYPD: Teen shot to death in NYCHA building on Mother’s Day

Police say a Brooklyn teen was shot to death on Mother’s Day at a NYCHA complex.

Officers rushed to the Van Dyke Houses in Brownsville shortly after 3 p.m. on Sunday on a report of a man being shot.

Police discovered 18-year-old Quahmir Cruz with a gunshot wound to his chest and brought him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to officials.

Police are investigating the shooting as a homicide. There were no arrests as of Sunday evening.

Officials did not disclose any information on what caused the incident or who the probable culprits were.
