A brief trip to the store transformed one Miami resident’s life. Alejandro Morales went to the Florida Lottery’s Miami District Office on January 20 to claim the $2 million top prize in the MONOPOLY SECRET VAULT scratch-off game.
According to the Florida Lottery, Morales bought the winning $10 ticket at the Winn-Dixie on 11241 S.W. 40th Street in Miami on Wednesday. Instead of purchasing an annuity, he chose to receive his earnings in a single lump-sum payout.
After taxes and withholdings, his take-home pay was $1,153,865.00.
The MONOPOLY SECRET VAULT game was originally released in July 2024. According to lottery officials, the game began with four $2 million top prizes and more than $176 million in total cash prizes distributed among 6.8 million winning tickets. The Florida Lottery lists the total odds of winning any prize in the game as 1-in-3.41.
While Morales received one of the highest prizes, the game remains available in stores across the state. The Monopoly brand, including the iconic figure and game board elements, is licensed by Hasbro.
